VP of Business Development
Mission of the Role
The mission of the individual contributor role of Vice President, Business Development is to drive the company’s growth and profitability by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, expanding market reach, and fostering innovation. This role involves presenting initiatives to various audiences that enhance the company’s market presence, forges valuable relationships, and ensures sustainable revenue generation, all while aligning with the organization’s overall strategic objectives and long-term vision.
Role and Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation: Execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth, including exceeding sales targets, monitoring your performance, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Negotiations: Lead high-stakes negotiations with potential clients, partners, and collaborators, ensuring favorable terms and mutually beneficial agreements that align with the company’s goals.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key industry players, clients, and stakeholders to enhance the company’s market presence and revenue streams.
- Market Expansion: Identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential avenues for growth, discuss with the internal team to determine opportunities for expansion strategies that would drive the company’s market reach.
- Product and Service Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for product or service enhancements and innovations, ensuring the company remains competitive and meets evolving customer needs.
- Represent the voice and sentiment of our customers and the marketplace to our teams internally. Use customer information and anecdotes, competitor intelligence, and marketplace data to accelerate business opportunities.
- Execute sales presentations both virtually and in person to various client pipeline audiences.
- Report weekly & monthly to the team on various data points such as your revenue projections against budget, customer pipeline, potential obstacles to achieve KPIs, & competitive intelligence.
- Superb lead response time is crucial and expected for success.
- Timely input all sales & marketing activities into the CRM/HubSpot.
- Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual KPIs that are aligned with the company’s growth strategies.
